Jaipur: The 26th Lokrang Mahotsav, organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra, promises to be a spectacular celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage, folk art, and craftsmanship. Running from October 29 to November 8, this 11-day festival, also known as the National Folk Dance Festival and National Handicrafts Fair, is set to showcase the diverse cultural traditions from 25 states across the nation.
Folk Art Extravaganza:
Over 2,500 artists hailing from different states will converge at Jawahar Kala Kendra to present the vibrant tapestry of India’s folk arts. Each evening, starting from 7 pm, visitors will have the opportunity to witness awe-inspiring performances of traditional folk arts. Admission to these performances can be secured with tickets available at the venue. To cater to a wider audience, these performances will also be streamed live on the official Facebook page of Jawahar Kala Kendra, ensuring that the magic of Indian folk art can be appreciated worldwide.
National Handicrafts Fair at Shilpgram:
The National Handicrafts Fair will take place at Shilpgram, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to witness the extraordinary skills of artisans and craftsmen. The fair will feature more than 100 stalls, showcasing exquisite handcrafted products by skilled artisans, including award-winning craftsmen from Rajasthan and other states, as well as national-level awardees.
Visitors can explore this fascinating exhibition from October 29 to November 8, between 11 am and 9.30 pm daily.
Main Stage Special Performances at Shilpgram:
The main stage at Shilpgram will be the epicenter of the fair, where prominent folk artists from Rajasthan will captivate the audience with special cultural performances every day, starting from 5 pm. Various other attractions have been lined up throughout the fair, including mehndi designs, live paintings, puppetry, Rajasthani instruments like Ravanahattha and Kamaicha, as well as an array of unique arts such as nuts, bahurupiya, and magic.
Invited States:
Folk artists from 25 states, including Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and more, have been invited to partake in this grand cultural festival.
