Meaning of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra
Trayambakam- one with three eyes; accusative case.
Yajamahe- we worship, respect. Our revered one.
Sugandhim- sweet smelling, fragrant.
Pushti- a well nourished condition, a person who is fruitful. Fullness of life
Vardhanam- one who nourishes, gives strength.
Urvaruk- cucumber.
Ivatra- like, like this.
Bandhanatra- actually longer than the end.
Mrityu- from death
Mukshiya, set us free, give liberation.
Matra Na
Amritat- immortality, liberation.
