Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team from Dungarpur arrested Rajasthan Gramin Bank branch manager Abhimanyu Kumar Singh and middleman Bhupendra Kumar Parmar on Monday for accepting a bribe of ₹45,000.
ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava informed that a complainant had approached the Dungarpur ACB team, stating that he had applied for agricultural loans totaling ₹11 lakh under the Kisan Credit Card scheme for himself, his brother, and his mother from the bank’s Metali branch.
When he met with the branch manager, Abhimanyu Kumar Singh, the manager gave him ₹2 lakh from the loan amount but withheld another ₹2 lakh, demanding a bribe of ₹50,000 to release the rest and process the full loan. The manager told the complainant he would receive a call from a contact who would collect the bribe.
Following this, under the direction of DySP Ratan Singh Rajpurohit, the ACB laid a trap and caught middleman Bhupendra Kumar Parmar red-handed while accepting ₹45,000 on behalf of the bank manager. The bank manager was also detained.
