Neemrana: Daikin Japanese Institute of Manufacturing Excellence (DJIME), a not-for-profit educational institute set up by Daikin Education and Skill Development Society (DESDS), celebrates a significant milestone as it marks two years of continuous and remarkable achievements at its Neemrana facility in Rajasthan.
Since its inception, DJIME has been at the forefront of fostering manufacturing excellence
and skill development in India’s industrial landscape. DJIME, a collaboration between Daikin Industries Ltd. and the Government of Japan, was established to impart world-class manufacturing knowledge and techniques to aspiring professionals and create a pool of skilled manpower for manufacturing in India. Spread over a 5-acre campus that can accommodate 250 students in one session, DJIME aspires to train 30,000 youth in the next 8 years and has played a pivotal role in nurturing talent and promoting advanced manufacturing practices in the region.
The institute offers training programs that consist of a combined curriculum with on-the-job
training, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) technical know-how, soft skills & Japanese manufacturing processes training. The trainees receive DJIME certification upon completion and till now 471 students have been trained which includes the ongoing batch as well.
Mr. K J Jawa, Chairman & MD, Daikin India expressed his enthusiasm on this
occasion, and stated, “As DJIME completes two successful years, we take pride in
contributing to the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Skill India’ initiatives through our state-of-the-art
manufacturing institute. DJIME has been instrumental in nurturing talent and fostering a
culture of innovation and excellence in manufacturing. We also actively encourage women’s inclusion in the workforce and empower them with the skills and opportunities to excel in manufacturing. The journey of DJIME over the past two years has been nothing short of remarkable”.
Under Mr Jawa’s leadership, DJIME has become a centre of excellence where students gain hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills essential for India’s manufacturing sector’s growth. Mr Jawa emphasised the importance of initiatives like DJIME in empowering Indian youth and enhancing the nation’s manufacturing capabilities on a global scale.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, DJIME organised a series of events which included
certificate distribution, and interaction with the inductees which aimed at showcasing the
achievements and impact of its programs on the manufacturing ecosystem in Rajasthan.
