Mumbai. The much-awaited film “Sitare Zameen Par” created quite a buzz today at an event where actress Genelia Deshmukh, co-star Aamir Khan and the film’s director addressed the media. The event talked about the emotional depth of the film and the compelling performances of actors Genelia and Aamir.

Genelia Deshmukh’s role in the film is yet again very important and impactful. All eyes were on Genelia as she spoke about her experience. “I am happy to get a chance to come back to Aamir Khan Productions,” she said with a nostalgic smile on her face. “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a special film. It gave me recognition as Aditi. Now I am coming back to a different time when I am not so young. I am a different person and actor now. I am happy that I could be cast as Sunita.”

Aamir Khan, who worked with Genelia in the film, praised her and painted a vivid picture of her talent and impact on screen. Khan said, “The camera loves her a lot. When she enters the frame, she lights it up.” He further added, “Genelia started from the top. When she started with her first film. She gave a great performance in her first film itself.

So she was an accomplished actress in her first film itself. She has consistently remained at the top. Every performance of hers is natural, real and effective. It is really a pleasure to work with her. Her character is very important in this film. The relationship between Sunita and Gulshan is very important in what happens to Gulshan eventually. I really enjoyed working with her.”

Khan also spoke about his character’s journey and how Genelia’s presence enriched their on-screen dynamic. “My character in the film is very immature. Gulshan doesn’t know how to handle relationships. He fails in all his relationships. His most important relationship is with his wife, in which he is failing. The chemistry between me and Genelia really impressed me. I can really get influenced by her. When you have a good actor opposite you, you keep learning something from the actor.”

Director R.S. Prasanna, whose vision brings “Sitar Zameen Par” to life, expressed his feelings for both the actors, and emphasized the authenticity they brought to their roles. “They are both very sensitive, emotional and authentic people. The film automatically becomes real and has a different kind of energy where you capture the acting.

It is a joy when you work with such great actors. You don’t want to direct much. You just do your job of telling the story with them. It is a great experience working with them.”
