Jaipur. Vidyadhar Nagar police station has arrested the accused of robbery and murder of woman Saroj Bansal from Tonk. Police information has revealed that while bringing the woman from Tonk to Jaipur, two miscreants tried to escape. Due to this, one miscreant suffered a fracture in his leg. The mastermind who planned this entire case turned out to be the adopted brother of the woman’s sister-in-law. Police is busy interrogating all the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur (North) Rashi Dogra Doodi said that Vidyadhar Nagar police has arrested 45-year-old Gopal resident of Purana Vidyadhar Nagar, 50-year-old Bajrang Lal resident of Shastrinagar Jaipur, 47-year-old Deen Mohammad resident of Jhunjhunu, presently Vidhadhar Nagar Jaipur, 23-year-old Lucky resident of Bundi and 24-year-old Shahrukh Ansari alias Police resident of Bundi in the case of robbery and murder of the woman.
Investigation has revealed that one miscreant had done recce to carry out the crime. After the recce, he sent his two companions for loot. There was a scuffle with Saroj inside the house. When the woman raised an alarm, the miscreants pressed her nose and mouth with their hands. Saroj died due to inability to breathe. Both the miscreants fled from there after collecting the looted goods.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur (North) Rashi Dogra Doodi told that Vidyadhar Nagar police had received information about the murder of a woman Saroj Bansal at 7.30 pm on Thursday. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and investigation revealed that jewellery and cash were also missing from the house. Based on the CCTV footage installed in the colony, two suspected miscreants had come with cloth tied on their faces. They stayed in the house for about half an hour.
A girl living in the neighbourhood had seen the masked miscreants coming out of Saroj Bansal’s house. When the girl told her parents, they informed Saroj’s husband Govind Bansal. When Bansal reached home at 7.30 pm on Thursday, his wife Saroj was found unconscious. When Saroj was found in a hostage condition, she was taken to the hospital with the help of neighbours.
No serious injury marks were found on the woman’s body. Saroj has a daughter who is married. Her husband Govind Bansal lives at his younger brother’s stationery shop.
The mastermind of the crime, Gopal, along with his associates had made a plan to commit robbery after murder.
To carry out the robbery and murder, mastermind Gopal and his associates had planned to hire goons. All the three masterminds had incurred debts of lakhs of rupees in their businesses. Mastermind Gopal had given the target of his adopted sister’s sister-in-law’s house to two goons. Gopal suspected that there were lakhs of rupees in cash, gold bricks and jewellery in her house.
During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that the plan was made about a year ago when the main accused Gopal Sharma, Bajrang Lal and Deen Mohammad suffered losses in their own business. It was decided that the robbery and murder would not be carried out by themselves but by hiring goons to carry out the incident.
As per the plan, two goons were called from Bundi district and the old lady, who was alone in her house, was murdered and robbed on the afternoon of January 16. After the murder and robbery, the accused fled away in a roadways bus.
Efforts are on to recover the looted items from the accused. The accused had taken away Rs 2.5 lakh from the house and jewellery from the cupboard and the woman’s tops, bangles, ring and gold chain from her neck.
The goons were traced out on the basis of CCTV footage
SHO Rakesh Khyaaliya said that both the goons who fled after committing the murder were traced out on the basis of CCTV footage. The police team caught both the goons from Tonk in about six hours. While bringing them from Tonk to Jaipur, both the goons started making noise to go to the toilet on the way. On the way, both the goons tried to run away. While chasing and catching them, both the goons fell into a pit. Due to this, both the goons suffered fractures in one leg each. Both the injured goons were admitted to Kanwatia Hospital. The doctor referred both the injured criminals to SMS Hospital. After treatment, the police will soon arrest both the criminals and interrogate them.
Clue of the criminals found after scanning CCTV
After the incident, the police scanned more than 150 CCTV footages around the crime scene. On the basis of CCTV footage, the criminals were identified and a plan was made to arrest them. Two criminals who carried out the crime were arrested from Mehandwas Tonk. The rest of the criminals were caught by the police from different places. The accused were identified by analyzing the CCTV cameras and on technical basis, two criminals who carried out the robbery and murder were arrested from a roadways bus from Mehandwas Tonk. After interrogating them, three other accused who planned this crime were arrested.
