
Jaipur. Heavy rains occurred in 16 cities including Jaipur in the state on Thursday. During this, the common people had to face a lot of trouble due to waterlogging in Sikar, Alwar, Karauli, Kotakasim. On Thursday, the highest rainfall of 53 mm was recorded in Sikar. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant held a meeting of divisional commissioners and district collectors and gave necessary guidelines regarding the situation arising after heavy rains in the state.
According to the Water Resources Department, the highest rainfall of 105 mm was recorded in Kotakasim of Khairthal-Tijara on Thursday. Apart from this, 97 mm rain was recorded in Ramgarh of Alwar, 88 in Govindgarh, 75 in Karauli, 86 in Khairthal, 68 in Nawalgarh of Jhunjhunu and 65 mm in Baswa of Dausa. A girl died due to lightning during rain in Gunti village of Behror.
According to the Meteorological Department, apart from Sikar, 30 mm rain was recorded in Alwar, 30 mm in Karoli, 21 mm in Kota, 22 mm in Dabok Udaipur, 15 mm in Bikaner, 8 mm in Pilani, 8 mm in Sikar and 8 mm in Jaipur. On Wednesday, light to moderate rain with thundershowers was recorded at many places in eastern Rajasthan and heavy rain was recorded at some places in Jaipur, Alwar, Dholpur and Dungarpur districts. Light to moderate rain with thundershowers was recorded at some places in Bikaner division of western Rajasthan.
The highest rainfall in eastern Rajasthan was recorded in Jaipur tehsil at 98 mm and 23 mm rain was recorded in Nava, Nagaur of western Rajasthan. The day temperature of Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Sri Ganganagar was above 40 and the night temperature of Jodhpur, Phalodi and Bikaner was above 30. Bikaner’s day temperature with 41.3 degrees and Phalodi’s night temperature with 33.2 degrees were the hottest. Director of Meteorological Center Radheshyam Sharma said that a circulation system is formed over north-eastern Rajasthan and the monsoon trough line is passing through Bikaner-Churu. Due to the effect of the above system, there is a strong possibility of monsoon being active in eastern Rajasthan for the next two-three days. During this time, light to moderate rain and sometimes heavy rain is likely at many places in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota divisions. Rain with thunder is likely to be recorded in some parts of Bikaner division of western Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.
Light to moderate rain is also likely at some places in the eastern parts of Jodhpur division and the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the border areas. There is a possibility of more than normal rain in the state during the first week. During the second week from 12 to 18 July, there is a possibility of normal rain in eastern Rajasthan and more than normal rain in western Rajasthan.
