Holashtak will end on March 13 and Holika Dahan will also happen on this day. Usually marriage and auspicious works start after Holi, but this year Malmas is starting on March 14. Auspicious work is prohibited during Malmas. This year auspicious works including marriage will start only after Malmas ends on April 13.
According to astrologers, there are 42 marriage muhurats from February to December this year. Holashtak starts from Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Falgun and lasts till Purnima i.e. Holika Dahan. At this time, auspicious works like marriage, mundan, naming, housewarming are prohibited. During this period all the planets remain in a fierce state. Due to this, the effect of negative energy in the atmosphere increases, that is why auspicious works are prohibited.
When are the auspicious dates for marriage in which month:
February: In the remaining days of February, there are auspicious dates for marriage on 25th, while in March, before the start of Holashtak, there are auspicious dates for marriage on 5th and 6th March.
March: Holashtak Dosh and Meen Malmas will start from 7th March. Due to this, there is no auspicious date till 14th March.
April: Marriages will start from 14th April. In April, there are auspicious dates for marriage on 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 29th, 30th.
May: In May, there are auspicious dates on 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 17th, 28th May. Auspicious marriages can take place on these days.
June: In the month of June, marriages will take place on 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th June. Marriages will not take place from 11th June due to setting of Guru.
Dev Shayan Dosh: This year Dev Shayan Dosh will be in effect from 6th July. After this marriages will not take place till 21st November.
November: After Dev Uthani Ekadashi in November, marriage muhurats will start again from 22nd November. In the month of November, marriage muhurats are on 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 30th November.
December: In the month of December, there are two auspicious days for marriage, 4th and 11th December.
Abujh Muhurat: Some days of the year are considered extremely auspicious and these days do not require a Muhurat for marriage. This year, marriages will be possible due to Akshaya Tritiya on 30th April, Janaki Navami on 5th May, Peepal Purnima on 12th May, Ganga Dashami on 5th June, Bhadlya Navami on 4th July, Dev Uthani Ekadashi on 6th July and Abujh Muhurat on 2nd November.
