Mumbai: Three highly anticipated films from Jio Studios—Saali Mohabbat, Ghamasaan, and Bun Tikki—captivated audiences at the 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF). The films were part of the specially curated section, “From India to the World.”
Pratik Gandhi (Ghamasan) and Shabana Azmi (Bun Tikki) graced the red carpet with their presence. They engaged in engaging discussions with the overseas audience and media about their creative journeys and films.
The festival opened with Saali Mohabbat, which captivated everyone with its mystery and suspense. This was followed by a screening of Ghamasaan, where the powerful performances of Pratik Gandhi and Arshad Warsi received rave reviews. The festival’s marquee screening was Bun Tikki, which received rave reviews for its emotional story and stellar performances by stars like Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman, Abhay Deol, Nusrat Bharucha, and Rohan Singh.
Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ghamasaan is a rural thriller that delves into the tense world of India’s heartland and its roots in dialogue. Faraz Arif Ansari’s Bun Tikki is a tender yet powerful tale of childhood, identity, and courage. Directed by Tisca Chopra, Saali Mohabbat is a thrilling mystery drama that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.
In terms of production, Bun Tikki is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, Marijke D’Souza, and Manish Malhotra. Ghamasaan is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Piyush Singh, Ashwini Chaudhary, Abhayanand Singh, and Saurabh Gupta. Saali Mohabbat is co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Manish Malhotra, and Dinesh Malhotra.
