Mumbai. Four-time National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut has been busy inspiring millions with her dedication to public service lately. Last month, the celebrated actress announced the postponement of her upcoming film ‘Emergency’ due to her election campaign with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Mandi constituency. Now, after her victory, she is all set to release her much-awaited period political drama ‘Emergency’ scheduled on September 6, 2024.
Backed by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, ‘Emergency’ is a mega-budget film on one of the most controversial episodes in the history of Indian democracy. At the centre of the story is one of the most sensational leaders of all time, India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films confirmed the new release date of ‘Emergency’ on social media. Talking about this, Kangana said, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the essence of Emergency is the destruction that happens when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints, it is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly waiting for its release worldwide on 6 September 2024.”
‘Emergency’ also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is composed by Sanchit Balhara, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ritesh Shah.
