Mumbai : The much-awaited first look of Mouni Roy’s upcoming thriller ‘Salakar’ has finally been released on Jio Hotstar, creating tremendous excitement among her fans. Fans waiting for this film have got to see a completely new and unexpected avatar of the actress, which marks another big change in her career.
In this glimpse, Mouni is seen in a character that the audience has never seen before. It gives a glimpse of an intense, serious and thrilling story, which presents Mouni in a strong and challenging role – completely different from her image so far.
Set against the backdrop of national security and espionage, Salakar is directed by Faruk Kabir and this film can prove to be a game-changer in Mouni Roy’s career. Though the plot of the film is kept under wraps for now, the first look has revealed enough to make the project a topic of discussion not just among the audiences but also among the critics.
The first look begins with India receiving intelligence about Pakistan’s nuclear programme. The ministry then sends its best spy (played by Naveen Kasturia) to foil the mission. And secretly assisting the spy is none other than Mouni Roy.
Scheduled to release on Jio Hotstar on August 8, “Advisor” is reportedly based on the real-life story of India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Directed by Faruk Kabir, the film seems to bring out a new facet of Mouni’s acting prowess, and early indications suggest that the spy thriller will provide her with a perfect platform to showcase her versatility in playing complex, substantial and multi-layered characters.
