Mumbai: PanIIT Alumni India has successfully concluded the third edition of Pivot: PanIIT World of Technology Summit. Over 3500 delegates and around 75 international participants attended the summit. They had interesting discussions on the transformative impact of digitalization and technological advancements in industries, administration and society under the theme ‘Technology at Work’.
The Summit began with the inaugural session in which prominent leaders like the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis presented their views. Later, at the conclusion of the Summit, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw made the Summit even more significant with his impressive address.
Several parallel technical sessions, startup sessions and live hackathons were organized on the day. In these sessions, leaders shared their perspectives on the critical role of technological advancements in sectors such as education, science, technology and governance. H.E. Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and H.E. Reuven Azar, Ambassador of Israel to India shared their views on the global technology landscape and also discussed their countries’ strong and beneficial relations with India.
The opening plenary titled ‘Making Technology Work – A Peep into the Future’ saw a welcome address by Debashish Bhattacharya, Chairman, Pan IIT. It also saw an inspiring address by Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Former Director General, CSIR. The event highlighted various verticals such as sustainable development and green energy, VC/PE investments in technology, rural and agriculture technology, social impact, and health and education. The discussions were facilitated by leading institutions such as Mercedes-Benz Group AG, SBI, NASSCOM, Rakuten and Mayo Clinic.
The event also featured 26 eminent speakers, including entrepreneurs, founders of unicorns and leaders from high-growth startups. Collaborations were held between 17 IIT incubator heads over two days and 500+ visitors attended. One of the highlights of the summit was Imagine, India’s first design and coding hackathon. Around 300 onsite participants were selected from over 15,000 registrations. They developed affordable tech solutions across themes such as digital healthcare and sustainable development of cities.
The conference concluded with a special valedictory address moderated by Jayant Sinha, former Member of Lok Sabha, Government of India. Speaking on the success of the summit, Debashish Bhattacharya, Chairman, PanIIT said, “Pivot 2025 was a huge success. It brought together many stalwarts from the worlds of technology, policy and business to discuss how innovation is shaping our future. These discussions, a vibrant startup ecosystem and hands-on hackathons led to many long-term partnerships and key insights that will drive change in the years to come.”
