Vivekanand Global University organized three-day 4th VGU Ranka Moot Court Competition

Jaipur: Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur is extremely proud to announce that the Department of Law in collaboration with Ranka Public Charitable Trust is organizing a three-day 4 th VGU Ranka Moot Court Competitionfrom 12th April to 14th April 2025.

The objective of this prestigious competition is to acquaint law students with the realities of judicial process, to encourage their reasoning, research skills and eloquence. This year moot problem is related toconstitutional law and criminal law, which will prompt the participants to reflect on contemporary legal issues.

More than 50 teams from the leading law schools including National Law University, State Law University and Other premier law institutions are participating in this competition where they will showcase their legal acumen and advocacy skills.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on 12th April 2025 at Vivekananda Global University from 10 AM Onwards. Mr. Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India, will be presiding as the Chief Guest of the event. Mr. Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava, Chief Justice, Rajasthan High Court, will be presiding as theGuest of Honourand Shri. Rajendra Prasad, Advocate General, Rajasthan High Court, will be the Special Guest.

Justice J.K. Ranka,Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court, Trustee of Ranka Public Charitable Trust, shared his thoughts: “It gives us immense pride to collaborate with Vivekananda Global University once again. The Ranka National Moot Court Competition is built on our long-standing vision of empowering young legal minds. Through this platform, we aim to encourage legal discourse,
critical analysis, and advocacy rooted in ethics and constitutional values.”

Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, Chairperson and Retd. IAS officer said: We nurture legal minds that can compete on global forums. The contest is a confluence of the spirit of justice and diverse views – reflecting the shared vision of VGU and Ranka Trus Prof. Dr. N. D. Mathur, President, VGU reported: We are ensuring that all participants get equal opportunity and experience a real and professional judicial environment.

The entire design of the event has been carefully designed to ensure the fairness and quality of the competition. Prof. P. P. Mitra, Dean, Faculty of Law said: This event reflects our commitment to legal education that is practice-based, competitive and intellectually empowering.

Addressing the press conference, the HOD, Department of Law, Dr. Shilpa Rao Rastogi informed that about 50 teams from all over the country are participating in the competition. She said, This competition is not only a unique experience for law students but also an important initiative towards taking the quality of law education to new heights.

The preliminary rounds will be held on April 12, the quarter-finals on April 13, and the semi-finals and final rounds on April 14. The jury for the final round will consist of retired judges of High Courts, senior advocates, and eminent academic experts. The winning team will be awarded a trophy, cash prize and certificate. The closing ceremony will be held on 14 April 2025, in which the winners will be honored.

The 4th edition of the VGU Ranka National Moot Court Competition will be a unique amalgamation of legal intellect, passionate competition, academic depth and judicial excellence.
