According to the scriptures, a person dies but his soul is immortal, the soul takes different forms and resides on earth. But even after this, a person does not remember anything about his previous birth. After all, how does a person forget everything about his previous birth? Let us tell you about it.
Kapal Kriya
In Hinduism, Kapal Kriya is done at the time of last rites. About half an hour after cremating the dead body, when most of the skin and flesh of the body has been burnt, then a lota is tied to a bamboo and more ghee is poured on the head part of the body.
So that no part of the head is left from burning. This is called Kapal Kriya. It is believed that if any part of the head or brain is left from burning, then the person remembers the things of the previous birth in the next birth. That is why it is burnt thoroughly.
If a person died due to some sad reason in his previous life, then remembering it in his new life will make him sad again and the thoughts about his previous life and the sadness of his near and dear ones will keep revolving in his mind.
