Mumbai: Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, announced that the All-New Altroz has received a 5-Star safety rating from India NCAP (India NCAP). With a score of 29.65/32 in the adult occupant protection category and 44.9/49 in the child occupant protection category, the Altroz has now officially become India’s safest hatchback.
The Altroz has already set a benchmark for safety. In 2020, it became the first hatchback in India to receive a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. Notably, it is the only premium hatchback in the country available in all three fuel options – petrol, diesel, and CNG. Now, it has created history by becoming the first car in its segment to receive a 5-star rating across all powertrains (petrol, diesel, and CNG) under India NCAP. It has also become the first CNG car in India to receive such a high safety rating. This achievement demonstrates that the Altroz remains the safest and most reliable choice across all fuel types.

Launched in May 2025, the all-new Altroz continues its legacy of safety and reliability. Built on Tata Motors’ trusted ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture, the car comes with a Diamond Strength Safety Shield, which provides a robust structure and protected crumple zones. Regarded as India’s safest hatchback, the Altroz comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability program, and ISOFIX child seat restraints. Additionally, it offers features like a 360° HD surround view camera, blind view monitor, direct TPMS, SOS and breakdown assistance, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and LED fog lamps with cornering function.
