Jaipur. The Kite Festival-2026, which strengthens Rajasthan’s rich folk culture and tourism identity at the international level, is being organized this year in a grand and attractive form. This event will be organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department on January 14, 2026, and will showcase a unique blend of folk culture, kite flying, and colorful fireworks.

Tourism Commissioner Rukmini Riyar said that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari will also participate in this special event of the Kite Festival. Their presence will lend special prestige to the event and reflects the state government’s commitment to continuously striving to give global recognition to Rajasthan’s cultural heritage, folk traditions, and tourism.

The Tourism Commissioner said that this festival, which has been continuously organized for more than two decades, is no longer just a traditional festival, but has become a strong and reliable brand of event-based tourism that attracts tourists from India and abroad.

Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Upendra Singh Shekhawat, said that the one-day program of the Kite Festival will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on January 14th at Jal Mahal ki Pal, Amer Road. The flight of colorful kites between the historic Jal Mahal, the serene lake, and the open sky will create an unforgettable experience for tourists and city residents.

During the program, cultural performances by folk artists, a kite exhibition, a live demonstration of kite making, and a special demonstration of flying fancy kites will also be organized. Keeping in mind the attraction for tourists, facilities such as free distribution of traditional delicacies, free kites for foreign tourists, and free camel cart rides will also be provided.

Shekhawat said that after the day-long cultural and traditional programs, the second phase of the event will begin at 6:30 pm. During this time, a special lantern flying program will be organized, which has been named the Lantern Festival. This will be followed by a grand fireworks display against the historical backdrop of Hawa Mahal. This fireworks display, illuminating the skies of the Pink City with light and colors, will be the main attraction of the Kite Festival and will provide a memorable conclusion to the festivities.

He said that the Kite Festival-2026 conveys the message that Rajasthan is not just a place to see, but an experience to live and feel from day to night—where the sky interacts with kites during the day, and at night, the historical monuments are bathed in light, bearing witness to the celebrations.

It is noteworthy that the Kite Festival has been extremely popular among the city residents, domestic tourists, and foreign visitors for many years. Every year, a large number of tourists experience the vibrant culture, folk art, and hospitality traditions of Rajasthan through this festival.

This event is being organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department, Government of Rajasthan, with the support of the District Administration Jaipur, Jaipur Municipal Corporation, and the Department of Archaeology and Museums.
